description a) Interface software design and implementation: software architectures, principles and use of graphics toolboxes, development tools, 2D animation, Flash, SVG, information visualisation, mobile interfaces and new technologies. b) 3D graphic visualisation: principles and areas of application, 3D modelling, 3D rendering, animation, OpenGL language. c) User-centred design methodologies: design, prototyping and evaluation of interactive systems, principles of ergonomics and perception, multimodality, gestural interaction, graphic requests. Prerequisites: a general understanding of information technology, a good knowledge of object oriented programming, and you will preferably have already used a graphics toolbox such as Java or Swing. Personal work: a mini project to follow on from practical work, completing what was done during practical sessions.
This course presents the methods and techniques for the design and implementation of high-performance man-machine interfaces, as much for interactivity as for visualisation. Lectures will at the same time deal with methodologies of user-friendly interface design, and software techniques for implementing 2D and 3D interfaces.
